How to cancel Instabang

By the Nightcap Reviews team · Updated

Instabang's terms say you must cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date, and that trials renew at the full one-month price. So if you're on a trial, cancel early, not on the last day.

Cancel online

  1. Log in on the Instabang website directly.
  2. Open your profile settings and go to Manage Account or Billing (Instabang's FAQ points to these sections).
  3. Follow the prompts to cancel your premium membership or switch off auto-renew. Expect a retention offer or an "Are you sure?" step, and keep going.
  4. If you bought a featured profile or other add-on, cancel that too. The terms say a featured profile renews on its own until cancelled.
  5. Save the confirmation screen and email.

After cancelling, the terms say you keep paid features until the end of the period you've paid for, and then the account drops back to a free membership. Ask support if you want the free account closed as well.

Cancel by phone or email

The terms also allow cancelling by contacting customer service online, by email or by phone. The site lists 1-877-717-3257 and support@instabang.com. Give the email address on the account and ask for written confirmation. Our general cancellation guide has a copy-and-paste message.

Things to check after you cancel

  • The next statement shows no new Instabang-related charge. Billing may run through a third-party processor, so check the receipt email for the exact name.
  • No credits or extras are still set to refill.
  • If a renewal payment fails before you've cancelled, the terms allow small fees for each failed attempt, so cancel properly rather than just letting a card expire.

If you're charged after cancelling

  1. Contact support with your confirmation screenshot and ask for a refund of the charge.
  2. The terms ask you to report billing errors within 30 days, so don't wait.
  3. If that doesn't work, dispute the charge with your card company as a billing error.
